sitiawan -June2011

yadda yadda…
went to Sitiawan for a short holiday~ well, I had a store to look after but…
it’s still a holiday :-D

LOOKIE! wanton noodles~!!
anyway, it’s the best that I’ve had ever tasted ♥
and I’ve been craving for this stall’s wanton noodles since I was, leme see, 8 years old?
it still tastes AMAZING
[ unlike food that'll change from AWSOME to AWFUL ]

HINT: look for this stall on top of a market xDD
ask me if you need more specific directions

BTW, there’s this CUTE coffee shop name across the market where the wanton noodles store was mentioned earlier
the name is SOOOOO ORIGINAL!

yep. I also managed to snap a few pictures of the sun setting but it aint super nice
the ones that I got last year are kinda nicer… although I still dont have a DSLR that time

obviously, this isnt a picture of the sun setting, if you have problems seeing that…

SingaPorE =D

when? 29 Dec – 2 Jan xD
why? uncle’s wedding

haha~ well, we reached there quite late, about 9pm?
the flight took almost an hour
my cousins, Yuki and Yoko are at my 1st aunt’s house
and we stayed there for 3 days

went roller skating at East Coast Park the next day
it was nice, although my sis fell and hurt her hand and left my cousins and I
I was like, OMG! WHAT?! leave me with my cousins while you went to McD?!

my cousins arent beginners, so… I kinda had to skate a while by myself
OKOK, tried roller skating around Sept 2010, but it wasnt quite as I expected
had a few falls but overall, I learnt nothing, that gal din teach much = =”

my other 2 cousins, Nikki and Nicole came the next day [ of course, with their mom and maid ]
had nothing much to do [ in my case :D ] while they went swimming
hmmm~ kinda had a good dinner at a seafood restaurant

Kakak Elah [ Nicole and Nikki's maid ] posing for my camera, AND my camera ONLY
at the day of the marriage

the wedding cake [ it doesnt taste like Secret Recipe cakes, but it was OK ]

dont mention it.
FORMAL wear isnt what I like :(
OK, I dont hate it, I just FREAKIN HATE it

awww~~~ bride and groom
sooooo touching~ [ erm, not really. juz exaggerating ]

aunts and granparents with their formal wear
hmmm~ not bad xD

it was raining after the wedding
so… xBox-ed at my aunt’s house after an hour of boredness
was supposed to go roller skating with all my cousins
but guess its impossible
aunts went shopping~ owhh
but xBox-ing is nicer. haha

went to WEST Coast Park the following day [ not East Coast Park, mind ya ]
which was quite near my aunt’s house
had a go at Go-Karts [ well, more like Pedal-Kart ]
and… look at my aunt ==”
you dont need me to explain, do you? xD

DAY 7

spent the day wif my aunt’s fren frm Taiwan

she brought along her son, daughter and their nanny
also employed one of her company’s worker to drive another car [ well, you dont expect 15 people to squeeze into 1 car, dont you ]
had a bloating stomach after the lunch

went to Taipei 101 for dinner after a quick trip @ the Pacific Sogo Mall
too bad we din get to browse around the shops in the mall
we juz went to the shops nearby [ which are quite a lot ]

nice scenery huh?
of course it is! it’s the view from the 85th floor of Taipei 101! OMFG

her fren was sooooo generous @@
she booked a room for dinner. WHOA

here’s the menu for the night :) fancy dining xD

we walked back to the hotel xD

and~ guess what? stopped at Watsons to buy masks
*~hahahahahahaha~*
went to the nightmarket nearby the hotel too
nothing much but bought a lil purse for myself :)

DAY 5

did I mention that our hotel in Taipei has a good view of Taipei 101?
it does xD

went to a place where soldiers perform [ well, not sure if that's the correct term ]
@ ZhongLieCi [ 忠烈祠 ]
they march and exchanged posts~
they din move after the ceremony
and~ so… here comes the flashlight of my mom’s camera

a trip to the National Museum [ ? ] well, they call it 故宫 in Chinese
and there are lots of priceless treasures inside~ guess its a suitable name xD
too bad tourists are not allowed to take pictures inside the place

we were advised by our tourguide to wear headsets, to ensure that we are with him throughout the tour around the place
so… here we go =)

went to a place where they told us about FengShui [ and more importantly, sell their FengShui stuff ]
then~ the most important thing during lunchtime : lunch!!
we were brought to this cool restaurant called 五角船板 [ not sure how its written in Chinese but i noe how it sounds: WuJiaoChuanBan ]
its more of an artistic restaurant` designed by a handicapped lady
but it’s still so wonderful ^^

next stop: XiMenDing! [ 西门町 ]
it is said that you cant say that you’ve been to Taipei [ or was it Taiwan ] if you havnt been to XiMenDing
there are lots of stuff there, from hawker stalls to Nike shops [ trust me, the Nike shoes there are cheaper than M'sia ]

and~ if you want my advice [ which was the tourguide's ]
try this stall’s bittergourd juice :D

erm~~~ they’re havin some rice noodles [ MeeSuah, to be exact ]
haha~ not very sure what is the exact term LAWL
and… a long queue follows

oh yeah, did I mention that I saw Jack @ KFC? [ the one from class. rite, Jack, not the KFC ]
well, i dint notice him at first but i did see a boy with a shocked expression
so took a closer look and…. TA-DA! it WAS him :D

then it was the famous ShiLin night market [ 士林夜市 ]
OMG~~~ guess how big the chicken fillet was

and how long the queue was

unbelievable? you’ve just gota believe it
[ and im kinda starving now :'( ]

giant sausages too @@

we spent our freetime there buying….
wait a minute… another minute…. okok, im gonna tell you
face masks
there, i said it.
it was crazy ROFL bought more than 80 pieces in total

and~ so it was the end of day 5;

←←←←←← +++ →→→→→→

DAY 6

yeah~ the international flora expo @ Taipei ^^
quite a long queue although it was only 9am

queued for almost an hour to get into the expo dome [ 争艳官 ]

but it was worth it ^^ the flower arrangements are magnificent
i never knew that you could do so many things with flowers [ and other plants ]

well, these are some of the beautiful and attractive arrangements

we decided to take a family pic outside the expo dome~
our clothes are as colorful as the flowers :D
it’ll be a waste not to take a pic though xD

my mom and aunts took a pic after lunch
[ which was scary, cause we almost couldnt find a place to settle down and almost had to sit on the floor while eating, or standing, whichever is considered more comfortable. lunch, i meant ]

our original plan was to watch the 2pm show at the other side of the expo
and this is what we found ==”
it looked as if the queue never ended. so its up to Plan B, which was sit there for the whole day
OKOK, i was kiddin

bought some souvenirs and scramped
owh, and btw, the place is near the international airport
so, we get quite a handful of aeroplanes [ airplanes, wadeva ]
this is just a PERFECT shot
i sooooo din edit any part of these pix

this is a crazy amount of people~
well, actually, it WAS a saturday… so… i guess most people are free to visit the expo xD

so~~~ we took a Metro to DanShui [ 淡水 ]
found these chic glasses in a shop~ but what’s the use for me :P
its more of a nightmarket actually, i mean the place where we went
[ yep, nightmarket strikes again ]

had dinner at a random restaurant nearby~ :D
well, im full enough [ did I mention that the rice was fragrant? more like Vietnamese rice ]

went back to the hotel via a cab [ taxi, whateva ]
we almost missed the hotel if I had slept [ hey~ so not exaggerating here :) ]
and…  im on my bed a few mins later

[ to be continued ㋡ ]

DAY 3

went to WenWu Temple [ 文武庙 ]
this is said to be ZhangFei‘s [ 张飞 ] weapon of choice
kinda huge @@

a peacock farm is next on the itinery
and, obviously, as you can tell, these are NOT peacocks
the ones below, ARE peacocks

look at the colorful feathers~

picking LingZhi are what most of the people of the Shao tribe [ 邵族 ] did for a living

took a boat and went around the Lake of the Sun and the Moon [ 日月潭 ]
the ride IS windy so…~ had a blast :D

nice Herbal Tea + Mushroom Egg xD
well, the be exact, the egg was soaked in a herbal tea and mushroom solution
which was quite tasty

now, the boat trip went on for, like, say, 20 mins
so~ camwhore time :P

had a short talk bout tea and stuff` well, who cares? I get the tea and biscuits for free xD

this is FengJia Night Market` [ 逢甲夜市 ]
its kind of like a market square. to be frank, it IS a square ==”

the famous, well, how do you put it in English? DaChangBaoXiaoChang? haha
large intestine wrapped by the small intestine? OKOK` we’ll stick with the former :)
dont worry, no one’s intestines were in it. its just glutinous rice and sausage with some veggies
in Chinese, its 大肠包小肠 [ 注:台湾用的是繁体字,这儿写的都是简体; 懒惰换去繁体,不好意思哦 ]

hotel for the nite in TaiChung. ^^ notice the ‘E’ was missin from the hotel sign though xD

————★-★-★————

DAY 4

nikki and I on the bus, getting ready for the next destination early in the morning

went to LeoFoo Village Theme Park [ 六福村 ]
unfortunately for us, it was raining :’( AND cold
you’ve gotta b kiddin
I HATE PLAYING IN THE RAIN
it makes me WET, WET, WET
and, trust me, cold soooo does not go with wet

at least we have disposable raincoats :)
erm~ but… my coat is already waterproof xD

dint get to play much, but here we are, takin shelter for a while
and… of course, had some lunch, which was fried chicken @@

the stuff there are quite nice, too bad I couldnt take more pix
mainly cuz of the rain :(

went to the famous landmark of Taipei, which is Taipei 101 [ well, only the shopping complex ]
and… the bad news? still raining
the inside of the building is MUCH better than the outside, which is good news
btw, lots of branded stuff inside @@

guess what? this christmas tree was made of Swarovski diamonds
and… *faints*

nicole and I were bored during the bus ride… so~~~ here we are
